Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a cooperative effort of food distribution, a way of linking small farmers with communities all over the country. Your early dollars provide cash flow for us to buy seeds, supplies and pay our labor during the off season. We are able to plan crops and harvests to supply you with an abundance of produce throughout the year.
Our spring CSA runs February 28 - May 28, 2026. Our Summer CSA begins in mid-June and continues into early October. Our tomato and fruit CSAs begin mid- July. We’ll be sure to send you a reminder email/text a week in advance so you have enough notice before we kick-off!
This is by far the hardest question to answer, since produce comes in so many shapes and sizes. See descriptions and photos on the product page of the CSA you are interested to see examples of typical content at different times of the season. So much depends on how much you eat and how many meals you eat at home. Our regular bag is recommended for two people or small households.
Need more? We offer a “Supersize me” option for the summer share.
Yes! To pay for your share via SNAP/EBT:
Step 1: Please visit https://dtafinder.mass.gov/dtafinder/csa-signup/236/stillmansfarm to sign up to allow DTA to deduct the funds for CSA payment. If you don’t see your pick up choice, choose the New Braintree Farm for pick up.*
Step 2: Please email Nancy (nancy @ stillmansfarm.com) your pick up location. *Once we verify the information is complete, you will receive confirmation that you have been successfully added to the CSA!
*The online system is new and DTA does not have all the locations listed.
Yes, we offer the option to pay for your CSA in four installments. Choose that option when you're signing up for your CSA.
Members have the opportunity to take advantage of seasonal specials (including bulk discounts) through our online shop. Pre-order items to be picked up with that week’s CSA bag. Online shopping will available at most locations.
And, if you pick up at a farmers’ market location, you always have the option of purchasing extra produce. Some customers purchase an A La Carte CSA as well to purchase specific or extra items.
We now provide the option to place a “Hold” (aka “Pause") or “Skip” a pick up for any week(s) you choose to pick up at a later time (up to 3 times per season).
HOLD: If you know you are going to be out of town, or otherwise unable to pick up your CSA, you can pre-arrange to “hold” the bag(s). Email, text, or chat (see below) and let us know the date(s) you will not pick up AND tell us when and where you want to pick up instead. You can also login to your account and “Pause” your subscription. At some point, you must email, text, or chat to let us know when you will receive the bag(s) you paused.*
You can choose to “double up” by getting two bags at a future pick up, or spread it out by picking up twice in one week at different locations.
SKIP: When you receive your weekly reminder, you can reply to the reminder and opt to “skip” that week’s pick up. Just let us know when and where you want to pick up instead via email, text, or chat (see below)
To Hold or Skip, contact us AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE:
Email hello@gofarmhand.com
Text 707-595-9859
Chat via gofarmhand.com*
All holds and skips must fulfilled during that CSA season’s time frame. If you don’t inform us of the alternate dates you want to pick up, you forfeit those bags. There are no refunds for missed pick ups or if you fail to reschedule a hold or skip. Any holds or skips that are not rescheduled cannot be carried over to another season.
If you have forgotten to pick up your box, Stillman’s Farm will donate your box to a charitable organization. Since the box/bag was picked and packed for you, we cannot offer an additional “make-up” box/bag at a later date. Thank you for understanding!
We do not offer cash or credit card refunds.
If you move or have another major life event that changes your CSA produce needs, Stillman’s Farm is happy to help by converting prorated CSA dollars into Stillman’s Farm Rewards to be used at any farmers’ market we attend.
Alternatively, you are welcome to transfer your share to a friend, family member or charitable organization.
No, our produce is not certified organic. We strive to grow much of our produce without any chemicals at all, not even chemicals that meet organic standards. For example, our greens are not sprayed with anything. For other crops, such as many of the fruits, we practice an intensive program of scouting and spray only when needed. Glenn is very cautious about chemical selection, so as to maintain a safe environment for our bees and amphibians…plus, we have our own children, grandchildren and pets to worry about 🙂
